For a Father's Day gift, my friend Mary-Margaret decided to get a portrait done of her and her daughter. It was a fantastic day, the light was right, and I'd been looking forward to the shoot for quite awhile.
See, we met over a year ago as a direct result of a Bunz trade, where I was seeking help with revamping my resume, and offering photography in exchange. She had a background in teaching resume writing as part of a PR course - which was pretty perfect - and after our first coffee meeting where we hit it off, she sent me a few emails back and forth, showing me various ways my resume could be stronger, based on different jobs I was trying out for.
The reciprocal photo session ended up not happening right away, but our friendship continued to grow, and the week before Father's Day she reached out to me to see if I was still down for it.
I had my camera ready, my reflector packed, and was ready to go pretty much before I even said Yeah! And it was a really great session - laid back, full of laughs, and with a great selection of images at the end of the day. The winning shot is below:
